Twycross Zoo

Another zoo and another work out for my lovely 100mm Canon macro lens.

This time I had a fairly brief visit to Twycross Zoo.  It’s about a 40 minute drive from where I live, far enough to make getting there require making specific plans but local enough that it was alway on my to-do list…but never quite got around to it.

Plus I knew the zoos speciality was in primates, and to be honest I’m not that excited by monkeys large or small.

But anyway…off I went.

And, frankly, was not that impressed.  Turns out they specialise in primates, and I’m not that interested in monkeys…

I’m not really being fair, if you like Chimps and their (our) cousins the Bonobos then this is certainly the zoo for you.

But what they do have, that is excellent  is a very cool butterfly house.  Which brings me to this post and the next few posts…

Thanks for looking!
