I love a good castle.
Fortunately in England there are a lot, so the intrepid castle spotter rarely has far to go. 2000+ years of intermittent invasions from Rome, Spain, France, Norway and of course Germany have somewhat shaped the English landscape. Of course Wales and Scotland have their castles from the invasions of the pesky English.
The bright side to thousands of years of blood and suffering is amazing architecture!
Pendennis Castle in Cornwall is a fascinating place, I wanted to get a few photos that were not simply of battlements…hopefully this one is worth a look.
