Welsh Mountain Mine. On a Mountain. In Wales.

welsh slate mine

This is an image of the remains of a slate mine from near to Moelwyn Bach in Snowdonia.  In Blaenau Ffestiniog to be precise.

More exactly, the remnants of the track from the mine to wherever that the quarried slate was taken from and to.

Not exactly attractive, but a hole made through a mountain/hill/ridge (whatever the technical term is,  my old geography teacher would be upset) is  always interesting.

Especially on a cloudless bright sunny day.
